The Buzz Myth and Sunny Trust organized seminar on Drug Awareness and Prevention on the grant of PUAN on 16th Aug, 2018 at National Library of Pakistan. There were total 65 participants who include students of colleges and universities, teachers, social workers, parents and media. Mr. Yoon Nam, Assistant Cultural Attaché at Embassy of United States of America, explained situation of opiates all over the world. Ms. Sahrish Ruba, Case Manager, Sunny Trust, gave presentation on “Drugs and Youth” to create awareness against drugs, warning signs and adopting prevention strategies in society, she also explained Sunny Trust Methodology in detail. Director Rehabilitation shared how her learning in U.S. motivated her to form ‘Recovery Club’ to provide support to the recovering people and bring them back to mainstream society. She also shared about project Sakoongah. Mr. Syed Ali Hameed, PUAN, gave speech to take positive steps for recovery and against drugs. Mr. Hassan-e-Mohammad, a recovery role model, presented himself to motivate youth and discussed about role of educational system for the prevention of drug addiction. Hassaan-e-Muhammad, the Founder of The Buzz Myth, shared how with the support of his family, friends and professional help, he recovered from the drug abuse and is now leading a clean and healthy life. Aamir Wadood from International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Department at U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Dr. Sunny from Sunny Trust, Nazia Ansari (Anchorperson Humsab News) and Ali Hameed, President PUAN Islamabad also shared their views. At the end of the seminar questions answers session with recovery role models and Drug Experts; Director Rehabilitation and Ms. Sahrish Ruba of Sunny Trust were done.
