International Conference in Moscow: “PARLIAMENTARIANS AGAINST DRUGS”

The State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National Anti-Drug Union (as co-organizer) invited Dr. Munawar Fayyaz Sunny to the International Conference “PARLIAMENTARIANS AGAINST DRUGS” (
Chairman Sunny Trust Dr. Munawar Fayyaz Sunny spoke about drug situation in Pakistan and his 25 years of experience in the field of drug addiction treatment, rehabilitation and prevention. He spoke about Sunny Methodology focusing on activities to ensure bio-psycho-social and spiritual rehabilitation. He emphasized, ” Treatment works, it is more than Detoxification and Recovery is possible”.

The Conference was held on December 4, 2017 in Moscow (the venue: Okhotniy Ryad str., 1, State Duma building, Plenary hall).  The one-day Conference consisted of a high-level plenary session and panel discussions.

In the conference, the members of parliament from 58 countries were invited. The Conference was attended by heads of legislative and executive authorities, ministers and other high-ranking officials of the Russian Federation, along with NGOs engaged in countering the threat of illicit drugs, working in the areas of prevention of drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking as
well as rehabilitation of alcoholics and drug addicts. In the process the Plenary meeting took part Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Mr. Yury Fedotov, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Mr. Viacheslav Volodin, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mr.Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Healthcare of Russia Ms.Veronika Skvortsova, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Mr.Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
